Press Match Report Oct 2009

Premier
Reigning champions Britannia Falcons are still the team to beat this year, being unbeaten after 6 games, including an impressive 7-3 victory over a strong Rosary team, and beating third placed Britannia Flamingos. Ryan Collins still undefeated this season. Team of the month must go to Phoenix Cobras, who recorded 5 straight wins as they went 4 points clear at the top, aided by a impressive individual performance by Richard Goodhand who was unbeaten during the month, having suffered just the one defeat in 18 so far this season. Despite their first defeat Britannia Flamingo’s continue to push the leaders, adding to their squad Alice Howard. After a poor start, Britannia Ravens, now bolstered by the signing of Lee Barnes, are now climbing the table. Replacing them at the bottom is Claydon B, who remain the only team without a Premier league victory so far.
Division One
The saints march on in the form of Capel St Peter and Capel St John, who are neck and neck at the top. However, the unbeaten Phoenix Pythons are fast closing in thanks to impressive individual contributions from Daren Earrey and John Stubbings. Top of the pile, though, remains Stuart Wadsworth from BT B52s, who's played all of his team's games so far.
Division Two
Baths Hall SC 'A' appear to be inching ahead in Division 2 and remain unbeaten after 7 matches played. There is a tight battle going on for 2nd and 3rd spots involving several teams down to mid-table. At the other end, Capel St. Mark have made a less than promising start to their season. Two players lead the averages in Ken Halliwell, St. Margarets FOBT and Colin Burton, Britannia Sparrows, although both Marty Ward, Wherstead Novas, and Richard Haggar, Wherstead Comets, remain undefeated having played fewer games. Mick Talbot, of Britannia Merlins scored a fine maximum in their away win against Wherstead Novas by 6 games to 4.
Division Three
A strong start has been made by BT Hurricanes winning all first 8 matches. Leading player, Adrian Studd, is now unbeaten after 20 singles, whilst team-mate Y. Li has an average of 85% games won. Up to five teams are involved in the chasing group. Recently in a classic game, defender against attacker, Alan Emsden, Pickwicks 'B' just overcame up-and-coming Elliot Branton by 12-10, 11-9, 13-15, 11-8! Michael Williams of Norbridge Red has impressed recently gaining maximums against Hadleigh Owls and Rosary Blue respectively.
